CMO upholds tradition of generosity with K4m Pastoral Fund contribution

In a stirring display of faith and stewardship, the Catholic Men’s Organisation (CMO) has once again reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to the Church’s mission by contributing K4 million to the 2025 Pastoral Fund. This generous donation underscores the CMO’s enduring dedication to supporting pastoral initiatives that nurture spiritual growth and community development across the Archdiocese of Lusaka.

The 2025 Pastoral Presentation, held at the Cathedral of the Child Jesus in Pope Square, was a momentous occasion graced by distinguished clergy and faithful alike. Most Rev. George Tambala, Archbishop of Lilongwe, was the main celebrant, joined by Archbishop Alick Banda and Auxiliary Bishop Joseph Szamocki of the Torun Diocese in Poland. Their presence added a profound sense of unity and global fraternity to the event.

“The Church in Africa has come of age that we should look at ourselves,” said Archbishop Tambala in as he delivered an inspiring homily. “Let’s put together what we have and look at the needs of the Church and where these resources should go…the putting together is understanding the body of Christ, just like we are members of one body. We put these resources together so that we can strengthen this body.”

A vibrant entourage of Catholic men and women from the Archdiocese of Lilongwe made the journey to witness this spiritual milestone, reflecting the deep communal ties and shared devotion that define the Church’s pastoral mission. Their attendance was a testament to the collective spirit that the Pastoral Fund seeks to cultivate—one rooted in service, solidarity, and sacrificial giving.

The CMO’s contribution is more than a financial gesture; it is a beacon of hope and a call to action for others to follow. As the Church continues to navigate the evolving needs of its flock, such acts of generosity ensure that pastoral care remains accessible, impactful, and inclusive.

With each passing year, the CMO’s legacy of giving grows stronger, inspiring a new generation of Catholic men to lead with faith and serve with purpose. Their K4 million gift to the 2025 Pastoral Fund is not just a donation—it’s a declaration of love for the Church and its people.
