Archbishop blesses new Futsal pitch at Adrian Mung’andu International Boys College
Archbishop Alick Banda has blessed the newly constructed futsal pitch at Adrian Mung’andu International Boys College, marking a milestone for the school community. The ceremony was met with visible excitement from both pupils and teachers, who celebrated the facility as a symbol of growth, opportunity and renewed school spirit.
More than just a playing surface, the futsal pitch embodies the school’s broader commitment to nurturing well-rounded learners through sport, discipline and teamwork.
For a brief moment, it was hard to tell whether the excitement was about the spiritual significance of the blessing or the simple fact that break-time football was about to be upgraded from “dusty survival mode” to “international standards.”
Plans are already underway to expand the program with additional facilities, to ensure the learners have access to a diverse range of sporting opportunities. Once completed, these facilities are expected to promote healthy lifestyles, foster teamwork, and create an environment where students can thrive both academically and physically.
The futsal pitch, blessed and inaugurated with joy, now stands as a cornerstone of Adrian Mung’andu International Boys College’s vision of holistic education, where faith, learning, and sport come together to shape the leaders of tomorrow.
