38 Confirmed at St. Mark the Evangelist Parish by Archbishop Dr. Banda

In the serene ambiance of St. Mark the Evangelist Parish- Chalala, the air was filled with a sense of reverence and anticipation. His Grace, Dr. Alick Banda, stood before the congregation, his voice resonating with conviction and warmth.
“Following the Lord demands that we grow in our love and our zeal for him, making him present in our lives despite all odds,” he proclaimed, his words weaving a tapestry of faith and devotion across the faces of the faithful gathered for the confirmation Mass
The congregation felt the weight of his message, a beautiful blend of inspiration and challenge, urging them to deepen their love and zeal for the Lord. The imagery he painted with his homily was vivid, each sentence a brushstroke that brought to life the essence of unwavering faith amidst life’s trials.
Each word from Dr. Banda seemed to ignite a spark within their hearts, encouraging them to embrace their spiritual journey with renewed fervor.
“Remaining with the Lord also means appropriating His identity, and becoming His channel of God’s selflessness and benevolence,” Dr Banda said. It means becoming channels of God’s mercy and God’s love; channels of God’s protection, especially for the weak and vulnerable.
“It means becoming channels of God’s defense of the young and the innocent, the old and the sick. It means becoming channels of God’s voice of the voiceless and God’s advocacy of those who are systematically abused, incarcerated, humiliated, brutalized, and embarrassed.”

As the Mass progressed, Dr. Banda conferred the sacrament of confirmation on 38 candidates, a sacred rite that marked a significant milestone in the spiritual journeys of the newly confirmed.
